"Mastery of
yoga is not gauged by how many postures you can do, but by how
much your life has improved.”

Over 2,000 years ago, a sage called Patanjali
brought together the accumulated wisdom of millennia, passing it on
through the definitive text of the Yoga Sutra-s. But only
three of the 196 verses relate to the posture practice
(Asana) that is so prevalent in most modern Yoga classes.
So what about the rest?
The Yoga Sutra-s of Patanjali offer
guidance for working towards a better life, offering concepts
and models in a complete system for holistic wellbeing.
Unfortunately, the deliberately brief verses can be incomprehensible
to anyone not fluent in the Sanskrit language, and puzzling even to
those who are.
Join Scott Rennie
for a light-hearted day of Yoga practice and discussion,
aimed at revealing the mysteries of this ancient text without the
risk of bursting blood vessels from mental over-exertion.
Playing in a relaxed environment, we will
take an easy look at the origins, meaning and practical
values of the Sutra-s, using simple models that can be
applied to everyday life.
Suitable for all –
from complete beginners or seasoned seekers - we will unveil the
simplicity in Patanjali’s system for better living,
revealing the true message that is often clouded by religious
misinterpretations of his great work.
