Yoga for Wellbeing in Kilmarnock

What is Yoga for Wellbeing?Reception at Time to Relax Therapy Centre

This kind of class is aimed at improving the health of most everyday people who are generally healthy - even if you are currently unfit!

This is an easy-going class that is suitable for all levels of ability and experience, from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners. We will do some movement practices and breathing or meditative practices, and finish off the class with a lying relaxation practice.

The overall aim of Yoga for Wellbeing is to gradually improve your overall mental, emotional and physical wellbeing over a period of time, reducing the impact of stress in your life. Everyone in these classes is encouraged to move at their own pace, doing every practice at a level appropriate to their own body's needs.

If you have specific health issues that would prevent you partaking in a moderate level of movement and exercise, then Group Classes may not be suitable for you. Where?

This class is held within the Training Room at the "Time to Relax" Therapy Centre, 1 Langlands Brae, Kilmarnock.

This venue is near to Kilmarnock Train Station in the  town centre. It is next door to Curves Gym, and both these premises share private customer parking to the rear. You can find an interactive map here.

When?

This class runs on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts in order to be settled when we begin, and not to disturb everyone else when you enter, however please do not enter until the previous class has finished and the room is clear, waiting quietly until such time. This class finishes about 9pm.

Please also be respectful of the other therapists and clients within the Centre and help to maintain the quiet and tranquillity of the Centre before and after class.

What level?

Both are easy-going breath-centred classes that are suitable for all levels of ability and experience, from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners.

Group classes are suitable for most people who are generally healthy - even if you are currently unfit! However, if you have specific health issues that would prevent you partaking in a moderate level of movement and exercise, then Group Classes may not be suitable for you.

What to bring?

Please wear comfortable clothing as appropriate to the current temperature, remembering that we often spend periods of time at stillness.

You will need to bring your own yoga mat as none are available at this venue. I also recommend that you bring a blanket to keep you warm during relaxation.

Cost?

All Explore Yoga classes are available on a block booking basis only.  This means that you cannot drop-in to a class or "pay as you go". Full payment of £50 for each 10-week block is required before joining the class. Payment by online booking, personal cheque (with guarantee card) or cash is accepted.

Anything else?

It is best not to eat for two or three hours before coming, but it is good for your body to take in some water before practice (though not too much).

Respect for your fellow students is expected at all times during class, especially if you arrive late.

Please do not disturb other students by talking or acting inappropriately in class.
