My Other Websites

Explore Yoga Yahoo! Group - I have created a Yahoo! Group for my students so that I can keep them in touch with class changes, and Yoga workshops or other events of interest. If you are unsure how to join or how to use this Group please email me through the Contact Us page and I'll be glad to explain.

In Search of Darshan - I went to India in January 2005 to study at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (see below) and this is the web log (blog) that I kept while I was over there. You can see my India photo's from all my visits at the India sets (2005 and 2007) of my Flickr page.

Scott's Thotts - this is another blog I now keep, just a regular record of my musings on Yoga matters and other stuff that zips its way through my grey spongy matter.

Myspace Page - need I say more?! Here's a link to my pathetic attempt at a Myspace page.

Southwest Scotland Yoga Group - This group was formerly called "Yogasangha Ayrshire" and was set up by me to help unite teachers with students in Ayrshire and South-West Scotland. We have now revamped and renamed it, and are working together to form a Yoga Group for the Southwest of Scotland (Ayrshire, and Dumfries and Galloway). This will facilitate Yoga events like workshops and retreats throughout the Southwest, and help teachers and students find each other within our area. If you want to be part of the local Yoga community, please go there and join.

Scottish Yoga

Yoga Bhoga - the most comprehensive source of information on Yoga in Scotland, a great resource for anyone in Scotland. This website is run by John Cowan, a Yogi and webmaster, so if you're interested in developing your own website then I can thoroughly recommend his services.

CYS Scotland - I did my Teacher Training with CYS Scotland, and can thoroughly recommend this course for anyone in Scotland who is interested in finding that "teacher within" in a fun and nurturing environment.

JG Yoga - my friend Johnny Glover teaches Yoga (and Qigong) in and around the Stranraer area and beyond. Please contact him if you are interested in group and individual classes, yoga therapy and the workshops, retreats and holidays that he runs.

My Influences

Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation - founded in January 2006, KHYF is an organization committed to spreading the holistic yoga teachings of Yogacharya Sri T Krishnamacharya. This site is of interest to anyone interested in studying (as a student, teacher or therapist) in this tradition (formerly known as Viniyoga). Information regarding workshops, seminars and training courses will be found here.

Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram - started by TKV Desikachar in honour of his father, Krishnamacharya, KYM is an amazing place to study as I had the pleasure of discovering in January 2005. It is just such a magical place, full of wonderful people. Anyone interested in going there, please drop me an email and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Restoreme - What can I say about Lynn-Carole? She is a very dedicated and talented teacher, and has been a great friend and positive influence in my yoga studies. I would thoroughly urge anyone living nearby to take the opportunity to study with her. You won't regret it.

World of Yoga - I have quite simply never met any other teachers like TKV Desikachar and Kausthub Desikachar. I cannot really say anything more in explanation - any attempt by me to put into words the inspiration with which they have filled me on the occasions I have had to study with them would be doomed to failure. You will have to experience that for yourself.

Other Sites

Moving Into Stillness - This message board, created for American Yogi and author Erich Schiffman, has done what no other online Yoga forum could do. It has created an online community that avoids all the egoism and backstabbing that other forums generate while remaining informative and enjoyable. You'll meet the nicest of people in here, and maybe like me you'll end up actually meeting some of them (currently 6 in total) and discovering they are just as wonderful in real life. Also check out Erich's own website for classes and courses, there are many students who think so highly of his Teacher Training courses that they take it again and again.

Association for Yoga Studies - I have had the pleasure of studying with Paul Harvey and many of the other AYS teachers, and found them all to have such a wonderful knowledge and understanding of Yoga.

Voiceworks - My friend Felicity Cook is a voice coach and singing teacher whose explorations of spirituality involve the use of the voice. It is her belief that we only come to balance in the voice when there is a well-integrated balance between the mind, body and soul. This work is carried out with the utmost respect and sensitivity for each individual’s different needs and point of understanding.
